Will Double J Stables and Campgrounds be open for camping over New Years weekend?
Double J Stables and Campground will be closed for the holiday season from December 23 until January 2nd

Does Double J Stables and Campgrounds offer weekly rates?
Yes we offer weekly rates. Please contact us at 270-286-0310 to determine the actual rate. Rates are dependant upon time of year and duration.

Does Double J Stables and Campgrounds offer group rates?
Yes we offer group rates. Please contact us at 270-286-0310 to determine the actual rate. Rates are dependant upon time of year and number in the party.

Is there shade for the campers and the horses?
Some shade is available for campers and horses. However this is dependant on time of year and such factors.

Are there any nearby swimming areas?
Yes there is a swimming area near. The Nolin Lake State Park has a swimming beach. The Nolin Lake State Park is approximately 3 mile west on Hwy 1827.

Does the state beach have a playground?
Yes a playground is located at the Nolin Lake state park close to the picnic pavilion tables and grills.

What is the nearest place to use high speed internet access?
WIFI is available at Double J, at the gazebo area

Can horses be rented for riding?
We give guided trail rides but do not rent out our horses to campers

What is the policy on pets?
Dogs are allowed but they have to be tied up at camp and cannot go on the trails

Do any of the campsites flood?
None of the campsites flood. Our elevation is one of the highest in Edmonson county.

Are electric hookups available?
Yes, electric hookups are available.

Are advanced trail rides offered?
Yes, However we only schedule a week in advance on the trail rides.

Are any waterfalls seen from the trails?
Riders with their own horses can see the waterfalls since they can follow their own course in the park

Can the camping area accommodate a 5th wheel?
Yes, a 5th wheel can be accomodated.
 
Are there vending machines close by?
There are vending machines close by the Mammoth Cave trail head at the barn, soft drinks, and ice machines.
 
Are there any groceries or stores close by?
No. Walmarts and stores like that within 45 minutes or so, the Webbs Market is within 5 minutes drive time, Lincoln Country Corner 270-286-9005 and Hickory Cabins Grill 270-286-0358 are very close also.

Country stores sell gasoline, meats and chees and most things you may needs on your visit.
 
We want to take a cave tour at Mammoth Cave, is that far away?
From the Double J to the Mammoth Cave visitor center its less than 20 minutes. Turn right on 1827 when leaving the Double J, turn right again at the Forks Country store to cross the Green River at the fairy, turn left at the Tee.
